Ownership and operator
Coranto is published and operated by Vargas & Hudson Limited. Company no. 16437000. Registered in England and Wales. Formal company disclosures, including the registered office required for the website, are kept in the Legal and Policies Centre rather than repeated across ordinary reader pages.
Methods and standards
The Editorial Methodology, Editorial Standards, Source Policy and Corrections process are public and linked throughout the publication.
AI assistance and oversight
Coranto can use AI-assisted research and drafting while maintaining source provenance, version history, correction controls and governed publication authority. Publishing and reader delivery use stored records rather than generating new copy on page load.
Current-news assistance
Machine monitoring can surface time-sensitive public signals for human/editorial verification. Automated signal candidates have no publication authority of their own.
Reader-funded publication
Coranto is designed as a subscriber information service. It carries no advertising, sponsored placement or paid editorial prominence.
Press-standards status
Coranto voluntarily uses the current IPSO Editors’ Code of Practice and Impress Standards Code as external minimum benchmarks while remaining explicit about regulatory status. It does not claim membership, regulator jurisdiction or endorsement unless that relationship is actually active.
Journalism Trust Initiative readiness
Coranto is working toward the Journalism Trust Initiative framework, including transparent identity and ownership, editorial mission, revenue model, public accountability, source responsibility, independence, corrections and governance. This is a readiness programme, not a claim of JTI certification; independent certification would be a later separately authorised step.
Policy versions
Versioned downloadable legal and policy documents are available from the Legal and Policies Centre. The current controlled pre-launch pack is prepared against the legal and editorial frameworks identified during drafting, but remains subject to professional review and activation of the required electronic contact routes before paid launch.
